Case study · Sports Without Boundaries · Winnipeg, Canada

Quick answer: Oluwafemi Aaron Ekemenah rebuilt the Wix website of Sports Without Boundaries, a Winnipeg charity that gives children and youth facing financial and social barriers the chance to play. The rebuild applied the 2024 brand guide across 9 core pages, generated 4 program pages from one CMS collection, routed every Register button to one registration hub and used 18 redirects to keep old search traffic.

At a glance

  • Client: Sports Without Boundaries

  • Location: Winnipeg, Canada

  • Scope: Redesign, CMS, forms, SEO migration

  • Platform: Wix, Velo, Wix Forms

  • Pages: 9 core + 4 programs

  • Year: 2026

The brief

A charity website serves three people at once: a parent registering a child, a volunteer who wants to help, and a funder deciding whether to give.

Each of them arrives with one question and very little patience. The old site made all three dig for the answer, and registration lived on pages that no longer matched the programs being run.

The organisation already had a strong 2024 brand guide: sky blue, orange and lime, Bree Serif and Montserrat, and a playful boundary-line motif. The website just wasn't using it.

The approach

  1. Rebuilt on the brand guide: Colours, type and the boundary-line motif applied consistently across Home, About, Programs, Impact, Get Involved, Accountability, Donate, Contact and Funders & Partners.

  2. One programs database: Youth Soccer, Ball 4 All Basketball, Beyond Sports and Mini Soccer each live as one CMS item. One template generates every program page, with ages, times, location and season schedules. Staff edit one row and the site updates everywhere.

  3. One registration hub: Every Register button on the site routes to a single hub that reads the programs database, knows what's open, and sends submissions to Wix Forms with automatic notifications.

  4. Get Involved in one slide-out: Volunteer, partner, sponsor and work-with-us enquiries all open in one panel, so helpers never leave the page they were reading.

  5. A migration that protects SEO: 18 permanent redirects retire the old pages without losing the search traffic they had earned, and the old pages are removed from Google's index.

Ideation and process

  1. Discovery: Mapped the three audiences, parents, volunteers and funders, and the one question each one arrives with.

  2. Sitemap: Consolidated a maze of old pages into nine core pages and four program pages.

  3. Wireframes: Sketched the homepage as three clear doors, and one program template for every program.

  4. Build & migrate: Wix CMS, a registration hub, forms and 18 redirects so nothing was lost in search.

The sitemap

  • About: Board, Team, Accountability

  • Programs: Youth Soccer, Ball 4 All, Beyond Sports, Mini Soccer

  • Impact: Stories, Funders

  • Get Involved: Volunteer, Partner, Sponsor

  • Register: One hub

Built so the team can run it without me.

Non-profit teams change often, and nobody has time to learn a developer's workflow. So the complex parts, the registration hub and the program pages, are driven by data the team already understands: a list of programs in the Wix dashboard.

Adding a new season is now a matter of editing a row, not redesigning a page.
